A little more info..

Today Dallas called again, she had a little more info for me, she said the pre-op date has been changed to the 8th at 3:30, with Dr. Zellers after that Kayla will get to leave and have all day the 9th to do whatever we want, I was thinking Build-A-Bear workshop, or something fun for her, I guess that won't be hard to figure out, seeming Odessa has nothing compared to Dallas. We will have to be back the morning of the 10th for the cath lab procedure, she said how that will work is, they are doing a procedure called a TEE, (transesophageal echocardiogram)-basically this is just for a good look at the heart where they can determine the exact size of the hole, and how much rim is around it, look at the amount of enlargement, this is a routine procedure not really meaning it will be able to be closed via cath lab, but the surgeon has to have this info anyhow. While they are doing this he will determine if he thinks he can close it, they said someone will come out to the waiting room and let us know if he is going to close it or not, if so he will do that then while she is already under anesthesia, if not they will admit her and she will have surgery the following morning with Dr. Kristine Guleserian. So now I don't know really what to think, I hope and pray that this can be done without the surgery but at the same time I am scared to get my hopes up, so all I can do is hope for the best. Ric is becoming an emotional wreck, and it hurts that I can't really do much to comfort him, but like he said what don't kill us will only make us stronger! His boss is being great about it all though he told him to take off as much time as it takes to be there with her, so thats good anyhow. My mom and dad will be there with us also, and Ric's Dad and his wife will be also, and probably my Aunt Shirley as well, so at least we will have plenty of support.
